Church Hall Planning

“Steynton school hall” has served the community of Steynton and its surrounding rural area for at least one hundred and sixty years. It started life as a school room attached to two almshouses and was administered by the charity “THOMAS CORY FOR   POOR HOUSES”.

The Hall has, for many years, served as a low cost venue for several local social groups and met the needs of those who either worship regularly at the Church or are occasionally present on other occasions. Unfortunately the hall is looking rather tired and is in need of modernisation to make it an acceptable venue for the 21st century

As part of its Venturing in Mission initiative which aims to build on, and further develop its outreach into the community at large; the Church in Wales membership at Steynton have resolved to redevelop and improve the facilities offered by their existing Church Hall.
The current proposal seeks to:

•make improvements to the existing structure
•incorporate new facilities: a new kitchen, disabled toilets, easy access for all throughout
•undertake remedial works to the existing structure

and in so doing to continue to provide an attractive facility for all users. These proposals were successfully submitted for planning permission - and all that remains now is to find the money to carry out the works - in the region of £100,000.
